Ingredients
  • Two 8-ounce rib eye steaks or 1 lb. flank steak
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • 20 basil leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Method
  • Grind all herbs and spices, add oil and rub on steak.
  • Place flank or steak on a skillet over medium high heat.
  • To cook: FLANK... Cook for 3 to 6 minutes per side depending on desired doneness. Remove from the heat, cover and set aside for 6 minutes. Slice very thinly on the cross grain and serve.
  • To cook: Rib Eye STEAK... Cook for 2 to 5 minutes per side depending on desired doneness. Cover and set aside for 3 minutes. Remove all visible fat and serve. (About half of the steaks are fat).
